What we’ve been up to... |
As promised, it has been an exciting couple of weeks for the Illinois P-20 Network! We’ve been near and far, working and learning with educators from early childhood through postsecondary settings!
Illinois Council of Instructional Coaches (ICIC) Conference – The Educational Coaching Network (ECN) team of Tim Dohrer, Alison Gordon, and Sharon Sheehan joined our friends and colleagues and coaches from across the state at NIU Naperville for the annual ICIC Conference. They presented on The Role of Instructional Coaching on Teacher Retention, including highlighting the takeaways and recommendations from the KEEP Illinois report, The Road to Retention.
Coalition for Transforming Higher Education Funding – We participated in conversations with other leaders around the ongoing work with SB3965, which proposes a new higher education funding formula for public universities designed to improve adequacy and equity. Learn more about the Coalition’s work.

ECN announces new Coaching and Wellness Workshop
|
Instructional coaching and supporting the wellness of both educators and students alike are two keys to long-term retention of teachers.
On December 10, 2024, at NIU Naperville, the Educational Coaching Network will host its newest workshop – Coaching and Wellness: Creating a Mentally Healthy Classroom. This workshop supports both keys to educator retention mentioned above!
The workshop is timed perfectly to allow teachers, instructional coaches, support services professionals, and school administrators to engage in thinking about classroom practices that support mental and emotional well-being and provide a stronger foundation for academic learning.
